Welcome to home of the 2007 AND 2008 Old School Shootout Champions: The Class of 2000!!!

Not Hear Us Well-Enough the First Time!?!  

A page dedicated to the OSS, the Class of 2000, and their triumphant runs... yes, Plural... as the Old School Shootout Champions. Championships that some said couldn't happen. That some said wouldn't happen. But will undoubtedly pen a chapter in DeWitt Sports History for years to come. 

So take a look around: Read about the games, check out some pictures, meet the players, or leave a comment or two about the greatness you may have witnessed in '07 & '08... y'know whatever. Wanna be heard? Something to say? Prediction for next year? Visit the forum... If anything, hopefully this will help people remember to never underestimate the heart of "a graduating class of habitual underachievers" (-Jim Jewett). So enjoy yourself. Thank you to all of those who came out and witnessed the greatness... well, thank you AND you're welcome. To all fellow 2k grads: Vindication!! Also, hopefully this will help stoke the fire for next year's tourney; Anybody gon' give us a game? Jk. In turn hopefully more people will come out and more money will be raised.

After the thrilling victory in '07, many a' negative comment was dispersed in '00s general direction. These non-believers had many reasons/excuses/explanations for why the Class of 2000 was able to so easily defeat all comers. They said that the field was watered down. They said that the "talent" from each graduating class wasn't completely accounted for. They were saying '00 was weak... that they'd be "dealt with"... that they'd been bamboozled. Well my friends, Judgment Day was August 16th, 2008. And all these classless, I'm sorry, classes would have their run at the champs, their shot at the belt... and when the dust settled... we'd see who was left standing.  If you're intersted in what transpired that fateful day, make your way to the journal section for elaboration. Not like you don't already know... but isn't it fun to recap the carnage? Yes, '00 was able to defend their title! You know it! Back to Back. 2-in-a-row. The other classes brought their best... and apparently... twasn't good enough. For those other teams, a tip of the cap and an A+ for effort; it was really cute. A special thanks to all the fans that came out to support the champs again this year. This one's for you! And the cup... she's home.

All fun aside and Most important, was that this tournament was put together for a great cause. Praise and Big Thanks go out to Brian Rich, Jay Leitz, and all other volunteers who had the idea, fortitude, and ability to put something like this together. This tournament was formed to benefit the Louie Leitz memorial fund; A foundation that is put together to help less fortunate student athletes get the aid they need to participate in summer camps and other scholastic sports activities. Over the last two OS Shootouts... over $8100 had been raised. Which is a testament to the founders, the athletes, and the good and quality people that make up the DeWitt Community. God Bless 'em.

So c'mon out next year and help a great cause. And in the meantime, don't EVER sleep on 2k again. You've been noted.
